Overview: The 2024 DRI Annual Conference addressed the successes and failures of economic reforms designed to give a greater role to markets, sometimes labeled “neoliberalism.” A further discussion was presented on if these policies led to economic growth and poverty reduction, to higher inequality, or possibly both. The debate brought together leading scholars to engage in the conversation regarding effects of the policies on interactions between nations and support for populist movements.
